Research
We decided to built our kahoot on the topic of technology in sport because we had done our Pecha Kucha presentation on this topic and though that it would be an ideal way to test the students knowledge after the presentation. The decision to do it on sport was due to the fact that we are in a Physical Education course and all students in the course have at least some interest in sport. Therefore we though that they would engage with the Kahoot and presentation more which was a success.
Design
Kahoots are also enjoyable and engaging so students would not feel as though they are being tested on their knowledge instead it would be like a fun activity. In fact from my own experience in secondary school many students think of Kahoots as an award and definitely not work.
Implementation
We found that our Digital artifact the Kahoot was very successful. all students in the class engaged with it. we also found that coming up with the questions was a great way to further develop our knowledge in regards to technology in sport. I personally found that I learnt about different ways in which technology is used in sports that I am not so familiar with such as the goal line technology in soccer witch connects to the match referees watch to allow him or her to make swift and accurate decisions.
My Role
My role when building our digital artifact was to come up with questions in relation to my slides which mainly revolved around the technology used in order to complete athlete testing. This is because my main sport is athletics and the blood lactate and VO2 Max tests are commonly done by athletes who compete in athletics.
It was also my job to find the images online for all the questions in the Kahoot and to upload them to the different slides. When choosing images I tried to link the images to what the question was talking about as much as possible as I though this would help as a visual aid to the students.
